Silver Dappled Baby, CKC Black & tan double dapple smooth

I got a call one day from a local vet. He had a breeder who'd brought in one of her dogs. The woman told him "put her down, I can't handle her." Instead, he called me, and asked "Can you take her? She's healthy and purebred, but no papers." That's how Baby joined our home.

Baby is an odd looking dachshund. She's got really long legs and a tiny head. After a few weeks, we discovered that her sire was a wirehair Double Dapple and her dam was a smooth coat dapple. ANY good breeder knows you NEVER breed dapples together like that. Usually the pups are born deformed in horrendous ways or are stillborn. Baby is also a climber. She can climb a 6' fence like it's not even there and jumps onto every doghouse we have. She's a loving dog and has been loads of fun since we got her. She's got more energy than any 3 other dogs together, and when she gets out, she always comes back home. Her first litter with us is due Oct 17, 2008. She may be retired after that, but she'll always be our Silver Dappled Baby.

Gretchen, Blue Great Dane

She weighed about 90 pounds when rescued on Aug 29, 2008.  She came to us because she "flunked obedience school". She was really very well behaved in spite of the abuse she'd received at "obedience school". The kids had great fun walking Gretchen for MILES every day. Gretchen would play gently with the dachshunds up in the kennels....like a big puppy herself.

Beautiful girl, she was placed with Amy and Jeff in Jackson, Mississippi on Sept. 15, 2008.
